LEarning Algorithms for Physics

LEAP is a research cluster formed by research groups from machine learning and physics areas.

Nowadays Machine Learning is providing new powerful tools for physicists to extract essential information from large amounts of data, either from experiments or simulations. Significant steps forward in every branch of the physical sciences could be made by embracing, developing and applying the methods of machine learning to interrogate high-dimensional complex data in a way that has not been possible before.

Machine learning also provides an exciting opportunity to learn the models themselves, to learn the physical principles and structures underlying the data. Machine learning will also be able to generate and design complex and novel physical structures and objects.
